Prologis was moving their headquarter location to a new building in downtown Denver. Concurrent with this move, they wanted to transition their on-premise data center into colocation and cloud deployments, so that they could leverage an OPEX model and eliminate hardware refresh cycles.

Working with consulting partner GTRI, Prologis evaluated numerous providers and chose ViaWest because of its local proximity, extensive experience and high levels of customer service and satisfaction. The ViaWest Hybrid IT solution consists of a colocation deployment, data warehousing and applications engineering, and a fully managed SQL cluster. ViaWest was selected for its state-of-the-art Compark data center in Denver, its local support, and ability to provide two different cloud pods. This enabled them to deploy their primary production site in Denver with a secondary site in Utah. These sites are linked by ViaWest’s Data Center Interconnection, a high capacity multi-ring private network that interconnects ViaWest data centers and cloud sites. The project was completed on time and within budget.
